The Fundamental Duties in Sanskrit language.

 The Fundamental Duties – (Article 51A) Constitution of India
मूलभूत-कर्तव्यानि (भारतीयसंविधानस्य अनुच्छेदः ५१ (क)

It shall be the duty of every citizens of India-

भारतस्य प्रत्येकं नागरिकस्य इदं कर्तव्यं भवति यत् -

(a) to abide by the Constitution and respect its ideals and institutions, the National Flag and the National Anthem;

(क) संविधानस्य पालनं कुर्यात्, तन्निष्ठानां श्रेष्ठमूल्यानां संस्थानां राष्ट्रध्वजस्य राष्ट्रगानस्य च आदरं कुर्यात्।

(b) to cherish and follow the noble ideals which inspired our national struggle for freedom;

(ख) स्वतन्त्रतायै राष्ट्रव्यापिनं संघर्षं प्रेरितवन्ति श्रेष्ठमूल्यानि हृदयंगतानि कुर्यात्, तान् अनुसरेत् च।

(c) to uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India;

(ग) भारतस्य प्रभुतां एकतां अखण्डतां च समर्थयेत् रक्षेत् च।

(d) to defend the country and render national service when called upon to do so;

(घ) राष्ट्रस्य रक्षां कुर्यात्, अपेक्षायां सत्यां राष्ट्रसेवायै तत्परः च भवेत्।

(e) to promote harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood amongst all the people of India transcending religious, linguistic and regional or sectional diversities; to renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women;

(ङ) धर्म-भाषा-प्रदेश-ज्ञाति-वैविध्यम् अपरिगणय्य भारतस्य सर्वेषु जनेषु समरसतां, भ्रातृत्वभावनां च प्रसारयेत्। नारीणां सम्मानं दूषयन्तीः परंपराः तिरस्कुर्यात्।

(f) to value and preserve the rich heritage of our composite culture;

(च) अस्माकं व्यामिश्रास्य वैभवशालिनः च सांस्कृतिकस्य निधेः महत्त्वम् अवगच्छेत् संरक्षणं च कुर्यात्।

(g) to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wild life, and to have compassion for living creatures;

(छ) वन-तडाग-नदी-वन्यजीव-आदि-प्राकृतिक-परिवेशस्य संरक्षणं संवर्धनं च कुर्यात्। जीवमात्रं प्रति करुणाम् आवहेत्।

(h) to develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform;

(ज) वैज्ञानिकचिन्तनशैलीं, मानवीयतां, जिज्ञासायाः, सत्परिवर्तनस्य च वृत्तिं विकासयेत्।

(i) to safeguard public property and to abjure violence;

(ञ) सार्वजनिकसम्पत्तें रक्षणं कुर्यात्, हिंसां च वर्जयेत्।

(j) to strive towards excellence in all spheres of individual and collective activity so that the nation constantly rises to higher levels of endeavour and achievement.

(ट) सर्वविधेषु व्यक्तिगतेषु सामूहिकेषु च कार्यकलापेषु श्रेष्ठतां प्राप्तुं यतेत, येन राष्ट्रं निरन्तरं प्रगतिपथे अग्रेसरं स्यात्।

(k) who is parent or guardian to provide opportunities for education to his child, or as the case may be, ward between the age of six and fourteen years.

(ठ) पितृभूतः, संरक्षकभूतः च सः स्वीयानां अपत्यानां विशेषतया येषां बालानां वयः षट्तः चतुर्दशवर्षपर्यन्तं भवति तेषां शिक्षणस्य अवसरान् कल्पयेत्।
